Refreshing strawberry beverage that is 100% kid-friendly!
I came across this recipe on an app that I've recently downloaded called Lemon8. There are tons of recipes, quotes, and much more. This copycat recipe of the infamous pink drink seemed interesting and something that I really wanted to try. My other half has two little ones(9 years and 7 years) that absolutely LOVE the Starbucks' Pink Drink. Here and there, I'll reward them with Pink Drinks before school when they earn it throughout the weeks, however, it does get a bit pricey and the drink is pumped with caffeine that these little girls do NOT need more of. LOL. And I could just imagine the sugar count. Yikes!
Wow, that’s better than the original! -Mia C.
There are only four ingredients(besides ice cubes LOL)! White Cran-Strawberry Juice(I used Ocean's Spray, however, Walmart does have this flavor in the 'Great Value' brand), Pink Lemonade Juice Powder(I went with Crystal Light packets), Freeze-Dried strawberries(My Walmart only had the 'Great Value' brand), and Coconut Milk(I used Silk brand). So I went to my nearest Walmart and picked them up. The total of my receipt was less than the price of two Tall Pink Drinks from Starbucks! What a steal!
Copycat Starbucks Pink Drink
Ingredients:
White Cran-Strawberry Juice
Coconut Milk (make sure it's from a carton and not a can)
2 Teaspoons Pink Lemonade Drink Mix
1 Large Spoonful Freeze-Dried Strawberries
You'll also need:
Ice Cubes (depending how cold you prefer your drink)
Cup
Directions:
Fill your cup with your desired amount of ice
Fill cup about 3/4 full of white cran-strawberry juice
Mix in your 2 tsp of pink lemonade mix
Add a few freeze dried strawberry crisps
Top with your desired coconut milk
Mix
Serve immediately and you are done! Simple as that! Let me know if you plan on trying this recipe out, I'd love to hear what you think! Especially in comparison to the real deal.
My Review:
When making this drink, I thought it was a little too sweet for me. The pink lemonade mix kind of took over the strawberry taste from the drink so I made another one without the lemonade powder and it was much better. I decided to share this with my other half’s kiddos and they absolutely loved it! One said it was better than the actual Starbucks Pink Drink. After trying this recipe and receiving the children’s reviews, I can safely say that I will definitely be making this again.
